When Scott Alan gets a phone call that his brother was hurt on a logging job, he rushes to Brian's side, only to find that his injuries are minor - but not before he meets Hank Ballam, an adrenaline-seeking logger who's an outcast among his co-workers.

Hank is a study in contrast: he lives for the rush of climbing and cutting trees almost as much as he loves the peace he finds exploring the mountains he calls home. Scott's attraction to Hank is immediate and mind-blowing, and it's what Scott has always wanted: to know what it's like to love someone he can't live without.

Scott needs to know if Hank's true feelings will be a roar of passion or simply a quiet friendship, one that doesn't match Scott's devotion. But it may be too late: Scott simply can't help himself from falling hard for Hank.

" 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 simply because I liked both the MCs and enjoyed reading their story. "

" Scott (of the way too many nicknames) rushes home to his brother's bedside after a logging accident. He sees Hank in the hospital and falls in love. I have gotten used to instant love in romances but even so this was Way too fast. He and Hank go camping for 2 days despite the brother's condition (not serious but he's in ICU?!) Hank was straight, had a brief encounter in high school, but a total skirt chaser since yet he accepts his love for Scott with very minimum soul searching. The book was certainly long enough to have a friends turn lovers but this book went to acquaintances fall madly in love in just a few chapters leaving the rest of the book for mostly sex. I liked the characters well enough, I liked the premise, but the story needed to be tighter and some inconsistencies needed to be fixed. Despite the problems with this book, I'll definitely find read more of Marchwell, there was a sweetness in his writing that appeals to me. "

" Good read but wasn't as vested in the characters as I was in Good To Know. "

" Falling is a great romance with great characters and not alot of angst. It has someone wonderful tender, sweet scenes, but also has some pretty hot and steamy sex going on. There is a lot of detail in the story regarding logging and the hazards that come with it, also you are given a great picture of the Canadian Landscape. The two main characters are perfect examples of opposites attracting. Hank who is one part adrenaline seeking logger who likes to push the limits and drinks like a fish most every night and goes through woman after woman, and the other part who is looking for someone to belong to and love. Scott is easy going who has an award winning song writing career, and lives his life openly as a gay man. The two come together slowly and sweetly with not alot of angst, and build something special together. I would highly recommend this story. "

" This is a sweet easy read romance where the the main story is just about the relationship between Scott and Hank. As others have commented, nothing of much consequence happens outside of this intense relationship and I was reminded of the old "Mills and Boon" romance books. At times the book was too sugary sweet for my taste and again the premise of "gay for you" raises the question in my mind as to whether this ever happens. There are no real moments of angst and no real tension in the story. If you want a sweet romance and a well written easy read then this is the book for you. "

" 4.5 stars - In terms of true romance, this story hit a bullseye! The characters (Hank & Scott) were very well developed and the love between them was so obvious that it literally jumped right off the pages. There wasn't a ton of angst (even though this was Hank's first real relationship with another guy), just the gradual development of a very sweet romance with plenty of emotionally charged luvin' to satisfy my craving! "

" wasn't sure if D.W. could pull off a logger as a romantic hero, but boy was i wrong...glad i picked this one up...like his style...really enjoyed the interaction b/t the brothers...reminded me of horsing around with my four brothers...read this, you won't be disappointed in this tender love story "

" This one was extremely disappointing for me. I enjoyed the characters, but the middle 80% of the book was nothing but sex scene after sex scene after sex scene. I got it aleffingready! They enjoyed sex with each other--and apparently were able to go 6 times per night--at 30+! I call BS. "

" A delightful and refreshing read. The main characters could just as well be friends of mine and not mere figments of the author's imagination. Their interaction often made me actually smile! The emotions in this love story are touching and at times acutely intense. A joy to read. "

" If this had been the first book I read by this author, I'm not sure I'd have read more. It's not bad, just not great. The writing is flatter, less complex than in An Earlier Heaven. "
