No one was aware of the storm's sudden force. Not the Hurricane Hunter crew trapped in its center. Not the family marooned on a resort island while searching for their missing teen. A deadly Category Five hurricane has never hit the Georgia coast in modern times.
Until now.
No one predicted the storm's sudden force. A crippled Air Force recon plane, trapped in the eye of a violent hurricane. An outspoken tropical weather forecaster, fired from his network TV job before he can issue a warning: the storm is changing course and intensifying. A desperate family searching for a runaway daughter on Georgia's posh St. Simons Island, cut off from escape as the hurricane roars toward them. A marriage on the rocks; an unrequited sexual attraction; a May-December romance. All will be swept up by the monster storm. Get ready for a white-knuckle adventure.

"Great Book! I consider myself soemwhat of an "amateur" meteorologist and this book was spot on. Besides the meteorological accuracy the story & charachter development were excellent. If you like hurricanes & great reading then give this book a try, I think that you will like it!" — Joecon (5 out of 5 stars)

" I had gotten this book as a free ebook. It sounded interesting to me and enjoyed it somewhat. The characters did not provide a great deal of interest to me however, I was interested in finding out what came of each character by the end. It was a free book and although I did not love it, it has enough of a story line to create some interest especially for those that have an interest in this topic. "
" Well written, edge of your seat thriller. Being from Atlanta and having spent a lot of time on SSI, I "saw" this all happen as I read. Enjoyable. "
" Pretty simple: this is a great story (that would probably make a great movie), but the characters act and speak too awkwardly and unbelievably for it to be a great book. It was a quick and fun read, though. "
" I'm sorry, I don't mean to make any enemies or hurt any feelings, but this book was not good. It was barely okay. He may have been a heck of a forecaster, but as a novelist, he needs some help. Way too predictable. "
" A horrific hurricane but not all of the storm is on the outside. Very exciting book with lots of human emotions. Enjoyed it very much! "
" Awesome, fast paced novel, with plenty of action and realistic characters. Someone should make a movie out of it. "
" This is a very entertaining book.well written.quick read. "
" It was a free Amazon download. Definitely action packed to keep things moving ... a good quick read. "
" Loved it, cant wait for more from this author. "
" A by-the-numbers catastrophic weather thriller that just didn't do much for me. Well written but not compelling. "
" As a weather buff, I enjoyed this book. At times it was predictable. Still, a good read. "
" I couldn't put this one down! "
" 4.5*. As other reviews said, you can see the 'movie' version of it in your mind as reading. It was well written that even though it was mostly predictable, I wanted to keep reading as descriptors drew me in. "
" Compelling story. Scientific details and accuracy add to the believability. Wish the language was cleaner. "
" A very well written story. I loved the authors attention to details making it very believable. I got this when Amazon offered it for free. It's now $9.39 and worth it. "
" Glad I only paid 99 cents "
" Read it in one day. Reviews said it was one of those books that you can't put down. Surprisingly, they were correct! For the most part, it all seemed realistic. I'll be watching the Weather Channel closely when there are hurricanes out there. "
" Hard to put this one down!! A good read! "
" I thought this was a great book - once I started it, I couldn't put it down. "
" This reminded me of an Arthur Hailey novel. The meteorological details of the intensifying storm added interest to an otherwise lackluster story with fairly shallow character development. "
" A very good read as the author does keep you interested. Why I marked it down is that all the threads in the story have endings that are a bit too predictable. "
" Excellent, suspensful, exciting, nerve racking, well written. Had to stop for work and life, butt definetly could have read none stop. A real page turner. "
