Listener Opinions

" This was a great cozy mystery. Funny and intriguing at the same time. The writing reminded me a little of Maeve Binchy's style. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and look forward to reading more in the series. Even though it seems that I started with #9 in the series, I never once felt like I was missing anything. The characters were fully defined, and nothing was assumed by the author. I was impressed! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Alice | 2/8/2014

" A patron at the library told me about Rhys Nowen's Molly Murphy mysteries, but unfortunately when I went to the stacks we were sadly missing most of them, and some how I ended up picking up one from her series with Constable Evan Evans. I am not one to start with #9, but we are missing so many once I realized it was #9, I was far enough into it that I decided to just keep reading it. I am now a big Bowen fan. This is my kind of mystery--not too complicated, but I loved the Welsh setting and characters and the lack of graphic descriptions and flavorful language. I thought it had a charm to it that I hope I will see in her other books whenever I get around to them! "

" An enjoyable mystery with a terrific setting in the Mt. Snowdon district of Wales. The setting is as much a character as the people, and all of them bring this place to life. These are clever little mysteries full of local color. "
