The quest was over. The Orb of Aldur was restored. And once again, with the crowning of Garion, there was a descendant of Riva Iron-grip to rule as Overlord of the West. And yet the prophecy was unfulfilled. In the east, the evil god Torak was about to awaken and seek dominion. Somehow, Garion had to face the god, to kill or be killed. On the outcome of that dread duel rested the destiny of the world. Now, accompanied by his grandfather, the ancient sorcerer Belgarath, Garion heads toward the City of Endless Night, where Torak awaits him.

To the south, his young fiancée, the Imperial Princess Ce'Nedra, leads the armies of the West in a desperate effort to divert the forces of Torak's horde away from the man she loved. The prophecy drives Garion on, but it gives no answer to the question that haunts him. How does a man kill an immortal god? He must answer that question in this resolution of the epic war between men, kings and gods that has spanned 7,000 years.

" The final volume of this series. A reread for me but still enjoyable. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Dylan | 2/16/2014

" This was a fantastic conclusion to the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves books. The author's writing is amazing, and his characters are so memorable, it's like you actually know these characters in real life. If you haven't read David Eddings, you've missed a treat. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Wm | 2/11/2014

" Fairly satisfying conclusion. The raising of the army bit is quite good. On the whole, not a bad series -- as I mentioned before, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it much more if I had read it as a teenager. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Sam Dixon | 2/3/2014

" This series is a forgotten gem with a detailed world, creative characters, and a great working of the classic coming of age story. It's great fantasy. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Mark | 1/29/2014

" The ending of this series was exactly what I expected. It fulfills the prophecies outlined in the previous novels, so there really are not many surprises. As well, Eddings had too much heart as a writer, as it seems he was not willing to do any real damage to his central characters, which is a big difference between this and modern fantasy. It was enjoyable though, and tied up every open strand from the series very well. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Mike Davis | 1/18/2014

" Amid ethical and theological considerations, this fifth and final book brought the trek to a fitting conclusion. While I have little background in fantasy sagas, nevertheless, this was a great read on more than one level. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 RinHitokiri | 1/16/2014

" Enchanter's End Game is the climax of the series. Garion is off to fight Torak and the armies of the west are battling the murgos. I found this book to be a very good ending to a long long quest and I look forward to more works from David Eddings. "

" An excellent series with some hilarious quips amoung the members of the quest. Nothing really new as far as a fantasy quest goes, but a good tale none the less. "

" Unlike many epic fantasy sagas I have read (e.g. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time), the Belgariad only gets better as it nears its conclusion. Eddings knows how to tell a story, I'll give you that. "
