" unintentionally hilarious and very quaint. You shouldn't look too deeply - it really is a product of it's time - but as a surface level stockholm syndrome bodice ripping rape fantasy it does what it sets out to do. "

" I read this book when I was 11 or 12. I loved it then and I know for sure I would hate it now, so I won't spoil my memories of it. Now that school spoiled my reading I would say it is a poster book for Said's Orientalism. "

" Loved this book, and would definitely rate it as one of my all time favorites, but since it's a little race-y I'll leave off that last star. :) "
