Publisher Description

In 1995, Marie Gesto disappeared after walking out of a supermarket in Hollywood. Harry Bosch worked the case but couldn’t crack it, and the 22-year-old woman never turned up, dead or alive. Now Bosch is in the Open-Unsolved Unit, where he still keeps the Gesto file on his desk, when he gets a call from the DA. A man accused of two heinous killings is willing to come clean about several other murders, including the killing of Marie Gesto. Bosch must now take Raynard Waits’s confession and get close to the man he has sought—and hated—for eleven years. But when Bosch learns that he and his partner missed a clue back in 1995 that could have led them to Gesto’s killer —and that would have stopped nine murders that followed—he begins to crack.

"Harry is back butting heads with the bosses. He continues in his new job, revisiting old murders, and find a conspiracy to protect a rich kid. Everyone one matters or no one matters, a saying our politicians could learn. I like that Harry has faults, unintentially pisses off his friends, and seems to figure things out by grinding the facts over and over. This is a reliably good series. I will read this series as long as Connelly chooses to write them."

" I had gone off Connelly for a while, because he was getting too formulaic. This book still has the usual elements, petty police bickering, bad politicians, a fast romance for Harry Bosch, some mean, mean criminals and as usual Harry gets it straightened away, while listening to smooth jazz. It may fall from a mold, but I enjoyed this as a fun read. I had been working like a crazy man and looked forward to some stupid down time. The writing is good, crisp dialog, and the pace of the adventure is fast, so there you go. In this story, Harry has a long time open murder case that suddenly appears to solve itself. Almost too good to be true, and guess what? IT IS. "

" Reading another Harry Bosch novel is like coming home now. Harry is a rather sad character, but he is not unhappy with his life, and that is encouraging. He reminds me of an old friend who was a police officer. Their characters are similar in that they have a highly cultivated view of what's right and wrong, and their lives have taken similar roads through the service and police work. "

" I love Michael Connelly books, and echo park does not disappoint at all! I feel now that I know Harry Bosch and how he would respond to situations and people, which makes reading his books really engrossing. Strongly recommend! "

" Another great Bosch novel! Bosch revisits a cold case from years ago and a convicted serial killer comes forward to claim responsibility. However, that is just the beginning. Bosch uncovers an enormous conspiracy, yet the twists and turns and revelations are unknown until the end. And some close to Bosch are forever changed in more ways than one. Bravo! "
