"This is another one of those mind blowing books! Dr. Fuhrman preaches a simple rule, everything you eat should have a high degree of nutrition compared to its calories. Therefore, meats, dairy, white flour, and processed foods don't make the cut! We should be eating mainly greens, vegetables, beans, fruit and nuts. I have been on my own journey to health and using this lifestyle I have already shed MANY pounds! I feel better and have much more energy! This book is extreme, but once you start eating more healthy (like a "Nutritarian" Furhman says) you will reap numerous benefits! This is a phenomenal source for nutrition!"

" Last year I was diagnosed with Lupus. Determined not to live on medication I started reading everything I could to determine a diet that would help minimize my symptoms. Thank goodness for Eat to Live! I could tell almost immediately the benefits of following this diet. "

" I saw Joel on a raw foods documentary so I was hoping his book would be promoting that type of diet. Instead, he heavily recommends canned beans, canned vegetables, and frozen fruits. I was disappointed. "

" This is the best book on nutrition I've read. Michael Pollan's books were very inspirational, but lacked both research and practical applications to back up his writing. This book not only filled in the gaps, but was also very motivating. "

" Honestly could not finish the book. The book does not take into account those people who do better with protein. some things make sense. It's just too one-sided. "

" Though I don't want to eat a pound of greens everyday to lose my excess pounds, I loved this book. It completely freed me of the notion that I have to eat animal products to get adequate protein. It also clued me into food addictions and true hunger cues. It's definitely worth reading. "
