About the Authors
Charlie Jane Anders is the author of science fiction, young adult fantasy, mysteries, and more. Her works have been named a finalist for the Hugo Award, Nebula Award, and Arthur C. Clarke Award. Her TED Talk, “Go Ahead, Dream about the Future” got 700,000 views in its first week. With Annalee Newitz, she co-hosts the podcast Our Opinions Are Correct.
Jonathan Strahan is
the editor of more than forty books, including the Locus and Aurealis award–winning
anthologies The Starry Rift,
Life on Mars, The New Space Opera (Vols. 1 & 2),
the bestselling The Locus Awards (with Charles N. Brown), and
the Eclipse and the Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year anthology
series. He won the World Fantasy Award for his editing in 2010 and has been
nominated four times for the Hugo Award for editing. He has also won the
Aurealis Award three times, the Ditmar Award five times, and is a recipient of
the William Atheling Award for his criticism and review. He has been the reviews
editor for Locus: The Magazine of the Science Fiction and Fantasy
Field since 2002.
Ken Liu is one of the most lauded authors in the field of American literature. A winner of the Nebula, Hugo, World Fantasy, Locus Sidewise, and Science Fiction & Fantasy Translation Awards, he has also been nominated for the Sturgeon and Locus Awards. His short story, “The Paper Menagerie,” is the first work of fiction to simultaneously win the Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy Awards. He also translated the 2015 Hugo Award–winning novel The Three-Body Problem, written by Cixin Liu, which is the first novel to ever win the Hugo award in translation. The Grace of Kings, his debut novel, is the first volume in a silkpunk epic fantasy series set in a universe he and his wife, artist Lisa Tang Liu, created together. It was a finalist for a Nebula Award and the recipient of the Locus Award for Best First Novel.
Jeffrey Ford is the author of three previous story collections and eight previous novels, including the Edgar Award–winning Girl in the Glass and the Shirley Jackson Award–winning Shadow Year. A former professor of writing and early American literature, Ford now writes full time in Ohio, where he lives with his wife.
James Morrow is the author of the World Fantasy Award-winning novel Towing Jehovah, the Nebula Award-winning novella Shambling Towards Hiroshima, and the New York Times Notable Book Blameless in Abaddon. Kim Stanley Robinson is a bestselling author and winner of the Hugo, Nebula, and Locus awards. He is the author of more than twenty books, including the bestselling Mars trilogy and the critically acclaimed Forty Signs of Rain, The Years of Rice and Salt, and 2312. In 2008, he was named a “Hero of the Environment” by Time magazine, and he works with the Sierra Nevada Research Institute. For his book Antarctica, he was sent to the Antarctic by the US National Science Foundation as part of their Antarctic Artists and Writers’ Program.
About the Narrators
Ann Richardson is an Earphones-winning narrator who studied broadcast journalism and Spanish at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Years later, the desire to take up a creative yet productive career lead her to narrating audiobooks and founding Great Plains Audiobooks, an audiobook publishing company focusing on bringing Midwestern literature to audio.
Basil Sands is an audiobook narrator and a writer from Anchorage, Alaska.
Candice Moll is an Australian actor who has been performing professionally since the age of fourteen. Her audiobook narrations include Spellbound, Out of This Place, and Simian’s Lair.
Fran Tunno has been well known in Los Angeles as a morning radio personality and news reporter for more than fifteen years. She is also the voice of numerous radio and television commercials and has been involved in recording for the audiobook industry for several years.
Jason Culp, an Earphones Award–winning narrator, has been acting since the age of ten, and his credits include a variety of television, theater, and film roles. He is best known for his role as Julian Jerome on General Hospital. In addition to audiobooks and voice-over work in national commercials, he has also narrated documentaries for National Geographic and the History Channel.
Ann M. Richardson is an Earphones Award–winning narrator. She studied broadcast journalism and Spanish at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Years later, the desire to take up a creative yet productive career lead her to investigate voice-over and ultimately audiobook narration and production.
Spencer Quinn, pseudonym of Peter Abrahams, is the New York Times bestselling author of the Chet and Bernie series and the Bowser and Birdie mysteries. He lives on Cape Cod with his dog, Audrey.
Neil Hellegers grew up in New Jersey and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a BA in theater arts and a minor in psychology before getting an MFA in acting from the Trinity Rep Conservatory in Providence, Rhode Island. He moved to New York City in 2003 and, since then, has made a career of theatrical performance, percussion, theater education, and audiobook narration. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and son.
