"Read this rather quickly considering I have read it a few times before. I think that is a sign of a good book! A lot of the 'events' I remembered, though some of the book I didn't recall until I was actually reading it again. The Brekke/F'nor/Wirenth/Canth storyline still makes me cry. I think it's even worse when you know what's coming! Forgotten how much I love the Dragons of Pern!"

" This one isn't quite as magical as the first, but I still like it. As I stated on reviews of random other books, I love Brekke and F'nor!!! They are probably the best overall characters I think. I still haven't finished this book, though it was due a month ago for AR tests. I guessed on 3 questions and got them right... so I know what happens... "

" I'm re-reading this so that I remember about the world of the Pernese before diving into a couple of Anne McCaffrey's books that have been sitting on my shelf unread. These are disappointing to revisit. The first time I read them was in 2006 and I loved every moment, but now, I just found there was too many loose ends in this book, many of which were left untied at the end. Why is there no more mention of Kylara? What happens with Meron of Nabol? So many questions left unanswered. It just seemed so sloppy to me, but these books are still a guilty pleasure of mine. I got through it pretty quickly. "

" Now we're getting somewhere. Much more story in this second installment of the original Pern trilogy; a few minor bits of discontinuity between it and its predecessor, but nothing to lament. Very enjoyable overall. "

" This book wasn't quite as good as the first in the series, but considering this is a re-read I know that it contains A LOT of setup for books to come. It does maintain interest throughout though and despite it's wanderings maintains a compelling story. "

" The world of Pern continues to unfold. Not as strong as the Dragonflight, but only because the amount of characters one had to follow has increased. That is nearly offset by the addition of fire lizards and a more active dialog role for the dragons themselves. "

That was super cute :) It was really confusing when F'nor went to the Red Star though cause he went and he almost died, and then suddenly he was back. There was almost no description of the red star. Wish there had been more about Lessa and F'lar. "
