Kat Richardson's New York Times best-selling Greywalker novels star one of the genre's most fascinating - and fan-favorite - heroines: PI Harper Blaine. In her sixth adventure, Harper travels to the Olympic Peninsula for a pre-trial investigation. There she meets the spirit of a man who claims he was murdered. Harper's search for answers leads her to a resort the locals call Blood Lake. A malevolent power lurks beneath its frosty waters along with a cadre of other hellish beings - all being controlled by a group of sinister mages. Soon Harper is risking her life to prevent them from continuing their dark plans.

    " Didn't really like this one "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Kikidee | 2/4/2014

" A fine read. Not as entertaining as the others but it moves the story/character along. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Jenn | 2/3/2014

" Very good- not crazy intense like her last book, but still very well written. "

" Even though this is the 6th book in the series for the most part the major story arc is done and a new reader could step in the series here even though the previous books would get spoiled. Most of the action takes place outside of Seattle and it puts Harper in a new situation with the Grey and solves an old murder that she stumbles across while working on another case. It was a bit of a slow read for me but it was also nice that she wasn't dealing with the vampires. "

" The first half of this was really hard for me to get into. It seemed to drag and was weighted down by a lot of description but very little action or conversation. It picked up near the middle and, after Quinton entered the story, it finally became somewhat interesting. Still, it wasn't very satisfying. The plot itself wasn't particularly interesting and it dragged quite a bit. "

" Another excellent entry in this paranormal mystery series featuring Greywalker Harper Blaine. Recovering from her injuries (and death!) in the last book, she is off to a remote town to take some depositions from a witness for a regular bland human court case when the ghost of a man who was murdered by being burned in his car asks her to find his killer--which starts Harper off on another mystery in the Grey. I like this series because it's more of a mystery without all the hokey romance stuff getting in the way. Looking forward to the next one! "

" I think I skipped two. Downpour was on the New Books shelf at the public library and I took it. I liked it, but there are holes because of the unread books in the series. Downpour is set on the Olympic Peninsula near Forks, hence the title. The new terrain made for an interesting change. "

" Did anything happen? The story meandered and suddenly it was at the end. I know I read it, but I'm still not entirely certain that this wasn't just one big epilogue to the previous book. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Cari | 11/27/2013

" Once again, it was an engaging read. Looking forward to reading the next book! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Dotty | 11/26/2013

" I love this entire series following Harper Blaine's dips into the 'Grey' area between life and death almost as much as I love Jim Butcher's 'Dresden' series! It's a unique, exciting, fun and fast read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Angela | 5/3/2013

" This was kind of fun but what is up with the sex scenes??!! I don't really need description of what exactly they choose to do. How about a nice subtle hint and leave it at that. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Nadia | 4/8/2013

" I like this series a lot. The only thing I didn't really like about this one was a twist involving her b/f (this is not a spoiler, I promise) which made my eyes roll a bit. Other than that, though, I dug it. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Corey | 3/24/2013

" Ok I gave this 5 stars and I do think it deserves it even if it wasn't quite up to her preceding 2 in the series. "

" This series is interesting enough to keep reading, but the endless detail drives me batty. I end up skipping many paragraphs in multiple stretches. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Bondama | 2/4/2013

" This was the fourth or fifth of the Greywalker books I've read, but it just wasn't up to the previous ones, I'm afraid. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Bill | 12/29/2012

" Another good entry into the Greywalker series. It took me a bit of the book to get back into things, but once I did it was pretty good. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Becky | 11/15/2012

" this book was a good addition to this series. I liked how it broke from traditional "stories" and started to bring in other cultures. I also really enjoyed how it never takes itself to seriously. I enjoy this series so much, and can't wait to continue! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jay O | 7/28/2012

" I knew almost exactly how this book was going to end about 1/2 way through which is no fun. Kat Richardson usually does a better job at keeping me guessing to the end, or absolutely convincing me of one thing and then having it be another. Still an enjoyable read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Tracy | 1/2/2012
