Audie Award Nominee, Romance, 2013

Mariah Conrad has come home. Badly wounded on active duty in Afghanistan and finally released stateside, she has no family to call on and nowhere to go - until Quinn Walker arrives at her bedside. Quinn - her brother-in-arms, ex-lover, and now maybe her future.

Quinn brings Mariah to his log cabin in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky to rest and recuperate both physically and emotionally. While she's incredibly grateful, Mariah is also confused and frustrated. She's always stood on her own two feet, but now even that can literally be torture. She's having flashbacks and blackouts, hearing helicopter noises in the night. She wants to push Quinn away - and hold him closer than ever.

But will she get the chance? Those helicopters are more than just post-traumatic stress; they're real - and dangerous. Bad things are happening on the mountain. Suddenly there's a battle to be fought on the home front, and no guarantee of survival.

" I really wanted to like this book because I enjoy Sharon Sala but this was just "okay" to me. Two of the plot points were so separated I felt like I was reading two different books with Quinn and Mariah's relationship just carrying over. I think if she'd combined the bear and the drug dealer business it would have been a much better read. The relationship between Quinn and Mariah was good though. I enjoyed them and they really carried the book. "

" Another great one from Mrs. Sala. Second installment of the Rebel Ridge series was very good. Nice action toward the end and a satisfying HEA. I would like to have had a little more of the backstory from Afghanistan. Ryal and Beth from book one are included as well as several of the minor characters. Hope there are more coming in this series. "

" It was okay. A different story line than most. Didn't get too in depth about the characters. The story and the characters had a lot of potential, but didn't quite get there. "

" Really good book kept you hoping that Mariah would rescue Quinn. The only downfall is that the author used the F word on too many times. "

" This is the second book in the Rebel Ridge series..Wonderfully written Romantic Suspense..I really connect with the characters in the book and I love how the women are written as strong willed and not weak and depending on men to get them through rough times.. "

" unfortunately, the narrator, who I normally enjoy, didn't work that well, and the book...ergh...review to follow "

" I finished this book in about a day and a half. I read the first Rebel Ridge novel by Sharon Sala and while it was a decent read I was not terribly impressed. I completely fell in love with the characters and the story in this one. Definitely worth reading. "

" The constant change in the POV is really annoying. Quinn, Mariah, Ryal, beth, Quinn's mother, the bad guy drug dealer, the woman that sold the land and so on. Even the bear has his voice in the story. I just read Quinn and Mariah parts and skipped everyone else, they weren't important anyway. "

" The book was a pretty good story and fast paced. I liked the heroine and hero, both soldiers who have suffered from PTSD. The substory of a drug operation on the mountain was so-so, but I liked Quinn and his family the Walkers and the support they gave to the heroine. "
