"This is a media tie-in book based on the show Doctor Who. I am amazed that I am giving a media tie-in book five stars but this book was fantastic. When reading a media tie-in book, you hope the author captures the essence of the characters and this author did an amazing job with this book. I had no problem with The Doctor in this book being David Tenant. The author did a great job writing about the daleks inhumanity too. I could picture this book being an episode with no problem and I was smiling with some of the characteristics portrayed in this book that we all have grown to love in the show. The only thing missing in this book was the Doctor Who theme song."

" Enjoying this book because it reminds me of classic Dalek stories.Having the Doctor meet up with a group of Dalek fighters during the Dalek wars is a great story idea! Love the feel of this story, it reminds me of a Doctor Who comic strip. "

" Surprisingly dark...especially for the New Series novels. Baxendale recaptures the deliciously moody writing found in his BBC 8th Doctor novels. The Daleks have never been more insidiously evil. "

" A solid Who novel, with some very well portrayed Daleks. The adventure itself is really nothing special. Where the book shines is it's characters. There are some questions about how this adventure is possible at all, but who cares if it's fun, right? "

" Great book. The Doctor's dialogue was captured really well, and there were some very interesting characters. For example, Jon Bowman, who's dialogue I read in a Nicholas Cage voice. I don't even know why. "

" I love the show; devour it entirely. The books though come across as slow and just not the same feelings. I couldn't get far into it. Maybe it was the secondary characters; I couldn't bring myself to care about them. "
