Publisher Description

The Dead are not alone. There is something in the mist and it talks to them.

In a remote clinic in 18th-century Italy, a lonely girl writes to her mother. She tells of pale English aristocrats and mysterious Russian nobles. She tells of intrigues and secrets, and strange faceless figures that rise from the sea. And she tells about the enigmatic Mrs Pond, who arrives with her husband and her physician. What she doesn't tell her mother is the truth that everyone knows and no one says that the only people who come here do so to die.

"the ending was quite lovely ,i was not sure how this was going to fare on paper but i have a very vivid imagination and i think it did a great job catching the mannerisms of the 11th Doctor ,Amy Pond, and Rory Williams. this being my first Doctor Who novel i'am satisfied and cannot wait to read another one"

" this is my first doctor who book, usally spin off books suck (that didnt stop me reading all the high school musical books tho). but this one was good. the characters were the same and because it wasnt all from one persons perspective, it worked "

" Didn't end the way I thought, but close enough. Don't know if it's because I have been into sci-si so long that there is little that surprises me (although watching can still scare me), but the ending was predictable. Still enjoyable, a bit rambling at parts...but ok "

" Starts out slow but picks up really well in the middle and has you hooked. The tone for each character was accurate (enough) and it definitely has the heart and moral ambiguity that you come to expect from a good Dr. Who story. I do recommend this one. I enjoyed it and even teared up a bit near the end. "

" Much better than the other recently published Doctor Who novels I've read. The multiple narrator was kind of annoying, but it was fine after the first few chapters. A fun read, especially if you're suffering a drought of new Doctor Who stories while the series is on hiatus. "

" I loved the different voices in the book so that we got the story from a range of perspectives. I thought the insight into how it must be to be Rory was wonderful. I loved the mild melancholia the story seemed to induce in me "

" I have read quite a few of the Doctor Who books so far and must say that this is the only one that had me hooked from page 1 (usually I need to read a few chapters). It is also the only one thus far that I am giving 5 stars to. "

" Some of the characterisations of the Doctor, Amy and Rory felt a little off, but overall I enjoyed this. I loved mystery and all the twists and turns, and Maria was a brilliant character. "
