"Fun easy read (hope so since its a young adult book). Goodhearted adventure, I can see why they turned it into a movie. It talked about death a bit, not the usual "stun" the bad guys, which impressed me a lot. Probably will read the rest. "

" I was drawn to this book/series because of the upcoming movie at the time, and was entirely satisfied. I don't think I ever actually got around to watching the movie, but I've gone back to read the book many times. "

" The story was very good. I am definitely a reader for fun, and I don't pay as much attention to detail as other's might. There is some discussion about the religious aspects of this book, which I see but wasn't at all bothered by. I read a lot of fantasy fiction so this was right up my alley. "

" I read this prior to this class and I really enjoyed it. I loved the details and creativity in this world that Pullman created. It was a fun story, and although I haven't read the sequels yet, I plan to at some point. "
