Publisher Description

In Agatha Christie’s gripping international thriller Destination Unknown, a woman at the end of her rope chooses a more exciting way to die when she embarks upon an almost certain suicide mission to find a missing scientist.

When a number of leading scientists disappear without a trace, concern grows within the international intelligence community. And the one woman who appears to hold the key to the mystery is dying from injuries sustained in a plane crash.

Meanwhile, in a Casablanca hotel room, Hilary Craven prepares to take her own life. But her suicide attempt is about to be interrupted by a man who will offer her an altogether more thrilling way to die. . . .

"One of her better spy novels. It involves espionage, scientists defecting, the Iron Curtain, and lots of travel! (of course it does, that's in the title!)I love the depictions of how travel used to be, and how easy it was for a person to just disappear. "

" I've always rather enjoyed Christie's odd ventures off into spy novel scenarios, although they are not as consistent as her classic village mysteries. "

" This is exactly the type of mystery plot that Hollywood would make into a movie: espionage, international connections, money, intrigue. Hollywood would just make the ending more dramatic. Great summer read. "

" Typical Christie, which for me is wonderful. I had a great time and did not figure this one out very early. As always, the characters drive the stories and this one had a good set-up that kept you interested. "

" I love Agatha Christie, but she should really stick to her cozy mysteries. I have read a couple of her attempts at international espionage and not only are they rather dull, she uses deus ex machina to tie things up in the end. Most unsatisfying. "

" An international "the world's at stake" spy thriller. The main character takes on the identity of a dead woman in order to track down missing scientists. // Not quite my thing. The beginnig seemed a bit slow and the end was abrupt. There was some engaging story in the middle though. "
