Publisher Description

As a living descendant of Artemis the Huntress, private investigator Nikki Glass knows how to track someone down. But when an Oracle shows up, warning the Descendants about wild dog attacks in Washington, D.C., Nikki is afraid it might be a trap. The Olympians believe the "dogs" are really jackals, controlled by a blood-crazed descendant of the Egyptian death-god Anubis. Whatever. If Nikki hopes to muzzle Dogboy, she's got to catch him in the act. But when she stakes out a local cemetery, she ends up face-to-snout with a snarling pack of shadow-jackals whose bite is worse than their bark. These hellhounds are deadly—even for an immortal like Nikki. "Dog" spelled backward may be "god," but that won't stop Nikki from teaching these old gods some new tricks. Like playing dead.

"Okay where to start I love this series an couldn't wait for the second book. I like the Nikki -Jamal relationship in this book. It nice that he has finally given up trying to kill her. I was frustrated that Anderson put up with so much of Emma's crap. Anderson who had always seemed so rock steady in book one kind of wussed out in book two regarding his wife Emma. I always hoped Anderson would hook up with Nikki but it appears to be way out on the horizon if ever. I'd would recommend both books to anyone looking for a really good series."

" I like the hints of other mythologies all rolled into one, especially from the perspective of someone who knows just a passing knowledge of them. The interpersonal relationships are good too, just enough for you to keep wanting more. "

" It was alright in terms of storyline and slightly more interesting in terms of characters and powers, but the ending leaves a bit to be desired as we are able to see the story continuing on, but no real ending can be guessed. "

" Fortunately, the second installment did not turn out to include a major cliffhanger like the first book did. This is good news for me since the next book is not out yet. Another thrilling adventure with Nikki Glass! "
