Publisher Description

She's inexorably drawn to a man 99 percent of people fear - Death.

Niko Thanatose, a member of the death caste, is on a mission. He needs to release the soul of a mortal hiding amongst Harbor Mist's residents. That's going to be a neat trick considering the low mortality rate in the town. He'll break all the rules when he meets a woman who has lived under a cloud of lies and stirs a foreign emotion in his soul.

A foundling, Lyra has always been told she's an ancient, an immortal who is so rare on Earth that her kind is almost extinct. With no powers to speak of, she's the outcast that is accepted but not truly embraced by the people of Harbor Mist until the new undertaker shows up and rocks her world.

Time is ticking. The deadline is looming. Three days to catch his target before everything around him begins to die. Lyra included.

"This book was very meaningful from all angles. Its about a boy that is very popular and becomes diagnosted with a very rare blood disease. He is not determined to do kim that will give him a few more years or surgery that will cure him. He still is at school being picked on because he has not told anyone not even his own family. He then tries to start a petition to change a name of street name becaue of the racialness it gives out. He goes around town trying to get people to sing off on it and not one single person listens to him. does he get it accomlished? i was recomended this book by my 11th grade english teacher. This book is great for a easy read. I recomend this to young MATURE readers looking for a good laugh. I thought it was excellent book all around, has some emotional areas in it but still good. I give this book a 5 star rating"

" This book was actually so good! The lead character was witty and likeable. One of the things I really didn't like was the excessive amount of football in the book. I also wished Chris had developped Ben's therapists characters a little more. "

" I enjoyed the premise behind this book. It is about an 18 year old kid who learns he is terminally ill, and how he reacts to this new found news. I found the language to be a bit offensive, and not necessary in my opinion. "

" Definitely a story for teens. When is it too early to be honest about death? I thought this book treated death with kid gloves. However, it does share a good message: there are some things you cannot do alone. A lesson in the value of a support system. "

" Was OK. Was amazing or great or good. Just OK. The characters were great but the plot was so ...flat. I don't know why but the fact that the guy is upside down on the cover just really pissed me off. In the book, the ending wasn't all that great. "
