"I liked Sheriff Joanna Brady. I thought she had guts and heart at exactly the right times when dealing with different people. She has an especially hard job because of her pregnancy. I thought that narrator Susan Ericksen did an exceptionally good job of imitating the different characters especially the Latino ones. I found the story intriguing and the mystery kept me guessing although I did manage to guess right about the murderer near the end. A good read and I'll look forward to reading more Joanna Brady Mysteries."

" This was my first book in the Joanna Brady series to read. (Amazing how she can juggle being a sheriff managing a short staffed department and being in her 9th month of pregnancy.) This Arizona based murder mystery solved 2 links murders 20+ years apart. "

" Very good suspense novel. One of a series "starring" an Arizona Sheriff, Joanna Brady, and her family. Not the usual type of "who done it". "

" I don't understand why these fall so short of the JP Beaumont books. I started skimming almost immediately, and am done with the series. No interest in doing them in order. Something keeps these from moving from bleh to compelling, though this is the first one that tipped from barely 2.5 to maybe 2. "

" This is the latest in the Joanna Brady series from J.A. Jance. It was enjoyable as usual and less bothersome that some bits in her last few books. There is some completely unrealistic content regarding things Sheriff Brady does while 9 months pregnant (gun fights with bad guys including running, leaping, and laying on her stomach), but realism isn "
