Publisher Description

Jordan Glass, a photojournalist on a well-earned vacation, wanders into a Hong Kong art museum and is puzzled to find fellow patrons eying her with curiosity. Minutes later, she stumbles upon a gallery containing a one-artist exhibition called "The Sleeping Women," a mysterious series of paintings that has caused a sensation in the world of modern art. Collectors have come to believe that the canvases depict female nudes not in sleep but in death, and they command millions at auction. When Jordan approaches the last work in the series, she freezes. The face in the painting seems to be her own.

This unsettling event hurls her back into a nightmare she has fought desperately to put behind her—for, in fact, the face in the painting belongs not to Jordan but to her twin sister, murdered one year ago. At the urging of the FBI, Jordan becomes both hunter and hunted in a duel with the anonymous artist, a gifted murderer who knows the secret history of Jordan's family, and truths that even she has never had the courage to face.

"This book is one that's difficult to put down as it moves from an interesting tutorial on twinship to a new " happening "in the art world.Paintings of women nude and either in sleep or death are commanding high prices from collectors.Who is the artist and what is his motivation? How do they connect with missing females from both New York and New Orleans and how are these subjects chosen? When she sees her twin in one of these paintings Jordan Glass enters the picture and devotes her time and efforts to solving the mystery with its peculiar ending. Enjoy!"

" Once again Greg Iles has taken a story with real charachters you can relate to and started it out with a wham and went all out to the finish. Dead sleep may be part of his Mississippi series but it travels the globe with backshots and family ties.It is a fast moving thriller that is complicated enough in parts to keep you finding time to read, read, read. Also for those of you who don't like shy heroines wh can't decide to do something, you'll love it.Greg Iles "
