Publisher Description

In the sixth book of the Magykal series, Alther Mella has been Banished, a Darke Domaine engulfs the Castle, and a Darke dragon is on the loose. Septimus Heap must use all of his skills to save the Castle and the Wizard Tower from destruction: He must enter the Darke. But he cannot do this alone. With the help of Jenna, Alther Mella, Marcellus Pye, and Septimus's estranged brother, Simon Heap, Septimus and Marcia Overstrand battle the spreading Darkenesse. Will Septimus succeed in protecting his Magykal world?

Written with Angie Sage's characteristic humor, Septimus Heap, Book Six: Darke is a compelling fantasy adventure filled with surprises, thrills, and laugh-out-loud moments. Readers will revel in the action-packed story as they realize the wisdom of Magyk—that all things are meant to be part of a living whole.

"This one had a slow start but once it picked up I didn't want to put it down. It starts with Septimus stressing out about his upcoming darke week and therefore doesn't want to help Jenna with her problem in the palace and she asks Beetle for help who starts feeling like a second fiddle to Septimus. Then a darke domaine takes over and our friends have to save the day but will they do it in time? Exciting news for Beetle emerges and they figure out who wolf boy is. I really enjoyed this one but like I said it took a little longer to get into then the books in this series normally do. I can't wait to see how it all will eventually end."

" Overall, another good installment for Septimus Heap. Although, I must admit to a waning interest in the series. Perhaps, I have just grown likes in a different direction. Or maybe, sometimes characters just don't age fast enough for me. I mean how much adventure can one person have in a lifetime. Some of the characters are really starting to lose their appeal in this series as well. One in particular I really wanted to reach in and smack was the mother. I mean can you be any more irritating? " Love it! I almost didn't get this one because the last two had been somewhat disappointing and I thought the series had just washed out but this had all the sparkle of the first books! Neat magic, touches of humor, adventure, a huge cast of characters, and very neat tie up of many things and people that had been left hanging from the other books. Gerald Doyle is a great narrator as well. "
