Dark offers chilling stories, both fiction and real life, about the things that scare us the most: murder, hauntings, visitations, insanity, and our own vulnerability! Examined through the eyes of some of the world’s most gifted writers— Edgar Allan Poe, Rudyard Kipling, Robert Frost, W. W. Jacobs, Iain Banks, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Paul Bowles, Will Self, Marjorie Bowen, A. M. Burrage, Blue Balliett—we feel the malice of serial murderers, the cold evil of the undead, the unreasoning hatred of the insane, and, most of all, the incomprehensible suffering of their victims!

About the Narrators

Colleen Delany has been a sparkling jewel in the crown of Washington’s vastly talented acting community for thirty-seven days now and will confidently challenge to a fierce best out of three in “paper-rock-scissors” anyone wishing to topple her from that lofty perch. Primarily a stage actress,—having played roles at Shakespeare Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, Folger Shakespeare Library, Studio Theatre, Olney Theatre, Woolly Mammoth, Theater J, Washington Stage Guild, Theater of the First Amendment, and Source Theatre, among others—Ms. Delany does a you-name-it of various acting jobs, including audiobook narration.

Grover Gardner (a.k.a. Tom Parker) is an award-winning narrator with over eight hundred titles to his credit. Named one of the “Best Voices of the Century” and a Golden Voice by AudioFile magazine, he has won three prestigious Audie Awards, was chosen Narrator of the Year for 2005 by Publishers Weekly, and has earned more than thirty Earphones Awards.

Simon Prebble, a British-born performer, is a stage and television actor and veteran narrator of some three hundred audiobooks. As one of AudioFile’s Golden Voices, he has received over twenty Earphones Awards and won the prestigious Audie in 2010. He lives in New York.

Graeme Malcolm has performed on Broadway as Pharaoh in Aida and as Sir Edward Ramsay in The King and I. His television credits include Law & Order, Against the Law, Criminal Intent, and Guiding Light. He has narrated hundreds of audiobooks.
