Publisher Description

Tall, lean and headstrong, FBI agent Kilraven lives by his own rules. And one of those rules includes keeping his hands off Jacobsville's resident sweetheart, Winnie Sinclair, no matter the temptation. Shy and innocent, Winnie couldn't handle a man like him—a merciless man with a haunted past. And this small town may hold not only the woman he fights to resist, but the answers to a cold case that is very personal to Kilraven....

Winnie has had her own share of sorrow and senses Kilraven's pain. Even though she tries to deny it, the gentle 911 operator feels a connection with the darkly handsome agent. When he makes the disturbing discovery that her family's unsavory past might have a bearing on his case, Winnie is determined to help him crack it...and the ice around his heart.

As they combine forces in a dangerous investigation, the stakes rise ever higher. Winnie's life is on the line, and she'll need Kilraven more than ever. But if they are to have a future together, her ruthless Texan will need to confront his past and risk it all for their love.

"Seriously one of my favorites, up there with the Wyoming books, Lawless & Magnolia. Really good had one of the most believable relationships of the Jacobsville series, aside from Lawless. I really liked Heart of Stone too though I loved Boone and Keely, but this one just had a lot more action in it. I totally felt like I was watching Burn Notice. I loved Kilraven and Winnie. They are all so serious the men in these books & he just felt so real one of the most real characters in her books for me. They are great but now just as believable. Her new series the Wyoming ones, have really realistic characters too. I am just really sad she quit letting the men call the women tonics. I loved reading that "Darling you are a tonic." It made me smile every single time, she still however lets the ladies refer to men as being "dishy" LOVE I am also sadly disappointed if I read a Diana Palmer book and the man isn't "Starving to death" for the women, I just miss it if its not there. I LOVE HER."

" This modern day western had some great depth. If you read this book it is better to read the first book in the series prior to Dangerous. I like the characters and how they built on each other. The murder investigations were very clean as far as they didn't go into lots of discription. This book also had a great story line. "

" I really wanted to like this one. Way too much time was spent on the murder mystery and even though I have read all the books in this long series, it was easy to get lost in the convoluted mystery/suspense element. I'd say about 30 percent of the book involved the romance between Kilraven and Winnie. What there was of their romance played as expected in a DP book and I enjoyed that part, but was left wanting more. "

" Not one of Diana Palmer's best written books, but I managed to finish it. If you can get past the first 5 chapters, the story moves along alright, with a few bumpy patches along the way. The plot was an interesting concept, it just wasn't executed very well, and it seemed to me that Diana Palmer wasn't even sure where she was going with the book at times, but Diana Palmer, is truly a gifted romantic/suspense writer, and I will continue to read her books! " She lost me when this big strong Texan CIA agent was drinking "Wine Coolers". Please no mans, man really drinks those things, on purpose. And she kept talking about XBox, it almost sounded like she was getting paid by them, she talked about it so much! I didn't like how she ended it either, just didn't think it realistic enough! No women lets a man walk all over her, like this one did. "

" Good story. Lots of characters thrown at you with little description of what they look like. I like to picture characters and their environment in my head as I read and this author doesn't do that. All in all if I am looking for a good author I would read one of hers again. "

" Sorely tempted to give it 2 stars. Kilraven is a jerk, and stays a jerk. Why would Winnie bother? The story was interesting, but a bit confusing at times. Dragged in the middle, then all tied up very, very quickly at the very end. "

" It was quick and chic lit, but disappointing an djust blah. And I guess since this is #38 in the series, it would've helped to have read the first 37. I've read a couple, but clearly not all of them. "

" If your looking for a romance novel with graphic description this is not it. The romance scenes are brief and few. The book is a story about an agent who's trying to find the murderer of his daughter. He recruits a 911 dispatcher to join him in the hunt. "
