Damascus Countdown is an exceptionally thrilling novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The story begins with Israel launching a preemptive strike against Iran, destroying Iran's nuclear warheads and sending their Twelfth Imam into a fury. While the Twelfth Imam is planning a genocide in retaliation for the attacks, David Shirazi, a United States C.I.A. operative and an Israeli by birth, prepares to enter into Iran to see what he can discover.

With tensions heating up quickly, David has to infiltrate Iranian intelligence, avoid being captured, and try to ease tensions before things get worse. Along the way, he discovers the destruction from Israel's attack may not have been as total as Iran made it appear, and the world may be in danger of a nuclear act of retaliation. But can he prevent it?

The hunt is on for David to find the warheads, and make sure the launch stops before Israel is destroyed and the world is devastated by a nuclear attack. While journeying through a religiously divided area, and facing political pressure from all sides, David is forced to work with men whose motives he questions and can't quite trust.

With the sobering fictional account about what would happen throughout the Middle East if Iran and Israel erupted into a nuclear war, Rosenberg draws the reader into a world of intrigue and global tensions. The realistic details of the story coupled with every carefully chosen word, make Damascus Countdown a dark, yet fascinating and fast-paced read. It definitely deserves a place on every thriller fan's "don't miss" list.

Joel C. Rosenberg was born in Rochester, New York and graduated from Syracuse University in the late 1980's. He has worked for Rush Limbaugh and U.S. Presidential Candidate Steve Forbes, and owns his own political consultancy business. He lives near Washington, D.C. with his wife Lynn and their four sons.

Israel successfully launches a first strike on Iran, taking out all of their nuclear sites and six of their nuclear warheads. American president William Jackson threatens to support a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the Jewish State for unprovoked and unwarranted acts of aggression. And the Twelfth Imam prepares to order a genocidal retaliation.

Meanwhile, CIA operative David Shirazi has infiltrated the Iranian regime and intercepted top secret intelligence indicating that two Iranian nuclear warheads survived the attack and have been moved to a secure and undisclosed location. In danger not only from the ongoing war between Israel and Iran but also from the increasingly hostile governments in multiple countries, Shirazi and his team are in a race against time to find the remaining nuclear warheads before the most cataclysmic event in the history of the Middle East comes to pass.
