A grandmother has the gift - or the curse - of seeing soon-to-be-dead people in her bedroom doorway in Elaine Viets's The Bedroom Door.

" Some good stories in here, some real duds. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jill | 2/14/2014

" Some of the stories were really great and stuck with me, while some were just okay. It was definitely an enjoyable anthology of mysteries with a supernatural bent to them. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Melodie | 2/9/2014

" This was like most of these anthologies, some good, some not so much. When you add in the fact that most of the writers don't write "woo woo", as it's called in the foreword, it gets a little more iffy. Charlaine Harris' story was very good. It was another look at the bombing of the Rhodes hotel. I also liked William Kent Krueger, Elaine Viets, Parnell Hall and Toni L.P. Kelner's stories quite a bit. The rest were quite up & down, but on the whole worth the read. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Francesca | 2/6/2014

" Not very interesting, the stories are too short and some stories are very boring "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Jeff Cadoff | 2/4/2014

" Needed a break from this one. Not as gripping as other anthologies by these authors. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Lynda Leemon | 2/2/2014

" This book was just an "okay" read for me. A few of the short stories were interesting, but most were lacking something. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Tricia | 1/6/2014

" Short stories. I gave it a try, not really what I was looking for. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 E. | 1/2/2014

" Interesting mixture of mysteries with a paranormal twist. Particularly like the mysterious stranger in the picture and the fleshing out of the aftermath of the sabotage of the vampire hotel. Eclectic styles, some a little creepier than others. "

" As mystery is not my usual genre of preference, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this collection of stories. I was initially drawn in by Charlaine Harris's name on the cover as I am a big fan of the Sookie series, and actually her piece was one of my least favorite in the book. "

" the stories were mostly good-ish, but did not jump out at me. Is it just that im not used to reading short stories? They all felt like they were over just when I started to get into the plot. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kirsten | 6/29/2012

" A little disappointed here, however enjoyed Parnel Hall, Toni Kelner, Terrie Farley Moran and of course Ms Harris. Some of the other tales too scary; others too disjointed! Taking a break from the short story/ novella for a while. "

" Not a bad collection, but not the best one I've read. I liked about half the stories, found most of the rest just 'ok' and completely disliked one. Still, there are a few here that I'll probably re-read again in the future when I'm looking for a quick Supernatural fix. "
