Sam Hopkins is a good kid who has fallen in with the wrong crowd. Hanging around with car thieves and thugs, Sam knows it’s only a matter of time before he makes one bad decision too many and gets into real trouble. But one day, Sam sees these thugs harassing an eccentric schoolmate named Jennifer. Finding the courage to face the bullies down, Sam loses a bad set of friends and acquires a very strange new one. Because Jennifer is not just eccentric. To Sam, she seems downright crazy. She has terrifying hallucinations involving demons, the devil, and death. And here’s the really crazy part: Sam is beginning to suspect that these visions may actually be prophecies — prophecies of something terrible that’s going to happen very soon. Unless he can stop it. With no one to believe him, with no one to help him, Sam is now all alone in a race against time. Finding the truth before disaster strikes is going to be both crazy and very, very dangerous. " The start of this novel was slow, and it took me 2 weeks to finally finish it. I didn't see what it had to do with the rest of the novel -how it was important to the story- until the end. I did like this book. It was... different. The end was an eye-opener to me just as it was to Sam because I followed his logic through most of the book. This book made me think a little more differently about situations. It also had some sayings in it that made me go "Huh. I never thought about that, but I guess it's true." I like how the author describes things through Sam and I think this was very well written. "

" A nice thriller for middle grade readers with dark secrets, bullies, and a little paranormal thrown in for good measure. I liked the way the author portrayed the "preacher's kid" who has to do wrong to do right in the end. You end up with a real kid hero that sticks to his guns even when the grown ups don't believe him. High action and great fun. "

" I liked this book. It was different than any other book I have read. It had a lot of funny parts in it that actually made me laugh to myself. Over all it was a good different type of book to read and I didn't see the part coming with Mark so that was a shocker. "

" I thought this book was really good. It showed that people shouldn't be afraid to do what they believe in. Do right, Fear Nothing. That's the motto that Sam believes in. He saved almost 1000 peoples lives after he read that quote on a statue in his dad's study. "

" Not at all what I thought, but a good suspenseful mystery and crime drama. Really like the way Sam tells you his story but keeps you guessing. "
