Publisher Description

In Boston, a young woman finds herself pregnant--even though she is still a virgin.

In Ireland, another young woman discovers she is in the same impossible condition.

And in cities all around the world, medical authorities are overwhelmed by epidemics, droughts, famines, floods, and worse. It all feels like a sign that something awful is coming.

Anne Fitzgerald, a former nun turned private investigator, is hired by the Archdiocese of Boston to investigate the immaculate conceptions. Even as she comes to care about and trust the young women, she realizes that both are in great danger. Terrifying forces of light and darkness are gathering. Stepping into uncharted territory where the unknown is just the beginning, Anne must discover the truth--to save the young women, to save herself, and to protect the future of all mankind.

"This book was unlike any other James Patterson book that I have ever read. Rather than searching for killers, this book introduced two very young pregnant virgins, one in America and one in Ireland. We spend the book trying to figure out how that can be and which girl is carrying the savior of the masses and which girl is carrying the spawn of Satan. I liked this book really well. It kept my interest clear through to the end. I would like to see a follow-up book, picking up where this one left off."

" This is probably my favority James Patterson book so far. An excellent story! His books are always a good, easy read. I highly recommend this one, unless you are easily offended by religious matters... :-) "

" A religious fantasy story of virgin births, the second coming, a child of satan, supernatural events and mysterious deaths. A choppy, hard to read story with a large number of very short chapters (1 - 2 pages) with lots of blank partial pages to pad out the size of the book. In summary, a frustrating read. "
