Publisher Description

I’m not your average hero. I actually wasn’t your average anything. Just a poor guy working an after-school job at a South Beach shoe repair shop to help his mom make ends meet. But a little magic changed it all.

It all started with a curse. And a frognapping. And one hot-looking princess, who asked me to lead a rescue mission.

There wasn’t a fairy godmother or any of that. And even though I fell in love along the way, what happened to me is unlike any fairy tale I’ve ever heard. Before I knew it, I was spying with a flock of enchanted swans, talking (yes, talking!) to a fox named Todd, and nearly trampled by giants in the Everglades.

Don’t believe me? I didn’t believe it either. But you’ll see. Because I knew it all was true, the second I got CLOAKED.

"The first of Alex Flinn's books that I've read that is (from what I can discern) not a retelling of a fairytale. And I loved it. There's no lack of magic and crazy adventure in this book and she keeps the plot moving along with a few twists and turns. Read it."

" I liked this one much better than "Beastly," maybe because it was a lot cleaner. It intertwined a few lesser-known fairy tales, and was told from a male perspective, which was kind of refreshing. The story was cute and fun! "

" This book was predictable but was a rather good book. I had to read it slowly in order to catch everything that happened, the author used a lot of foreshadowing. "

" Lovers of twisted fairy tales will enjoy this, though it is very much a fairy tale where you must suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the story. Ending was cheesy but hey--it's a fairy tale, right? "

" An interesting story of an accidental hero who is sent on a quest. While on this quest he discovers magic is real...as once human animals, witches and curses. This story does a good job integrating timeless tales into a modern day adventure. "

" This book was fun, but nothing special. The writing was too jumpy and didn't really have any depth. It had some funny moments, but it was too superficial to be memorable. I like Beastly and a Kiss in Time much better. Still, this was a fun read if you want something light and you like fairytales. "

" I liked how the story was derived from Six Swans, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Frog Prince, The Valiant Tailor and The salad. It had humor in it and had a great plot. Nice story. "

" This was an enjoyable read. It was nice to read a fairy tale from a boy's perspective. It had elements of "The Frog Prince, the Six Swans, The Salad, The Gold Bird and the Fox/Wolf(depending on the region the story is being told in), and most importantly the Elves and the Shoe Maker. "

" This book was a bit young to be in the teen section, but it was enjoyable enough. A cute, light read, a bit predictable but still engaging. I liked the protagonist's voice, but it only showed up once in a while. Lots of plot twists and action for those who like exciting stories. "

" Cloaked was fun and clever but not the greatest book ever read, either. I enjoyed the inter-weaving of several lesser known fairy tales and it was done very well. This is good for a fun, lighthearted weekend read. "

" It was ok. Hardly. The author just picked some classic fairy tales and mixed them. But it takes in the modern setting. At some point it was funny and pretty entertaining. Oh well, i wont really recommend this book to those above 14-16. Why? Because...its just too much fairy tales, magic and stuff. "
