  • "As always, Charles Dickens does not fail to disappoint. I first read this book in high school but can't remember what I thought of it. Having seen about 4 versions of A Christmas Carol last December, it was interesting to reread the book to see how the movies treated the original version. There are many quotable quotes in this book and I have lots of favourites. Great for a read at any time of the year, rich with allegory and beautiful turn of phrases, I highly recommend reading this book."

" I read this most Christmas seasons - to get in the "Spirit" of Christmas. I enjoy almost everything I've read by Dickens. I enjoy his style, and I feel I am reading words of value when I read his novels. "

" Also had to read this for GCSE English. This one however I found incredibly mundane and boring. Call me scrooge but whatever. There's too many A Christmas Carol stories around and it annoys me. "

" Not a very long book, but in the number of pages Dickens manages to load more life-changing literature than any other. It's no wonder it's such a classic, in the true spirit of Christmas. An absolute beacon of literature and what it's supposed to be. "

" Probably my favorite Dickens novel yet of the four I've read. It's simple, it's charming. Not really containing any of Dickens's trademark humor. It's very short, and therefore a quick light read, perfect for the holidays! "
