    " Twain's stories were my favorite, and this CD introduced me to Ambrose Bierce. I also enjoyed these stories. Stephen Crane I can take or leave, however. I might have left Jack London's too but only because he is best read in novels you'd like to cozy up next to a fire & read. "

    " I didn't particularly enjoy very many of the stories in this book. It was helpful to learn about some of the authors and the ones I would like to read more. By the time I reached the end, I couldn't even listen to the stories by Jack Frost as I was so done with this book. "

About Ambrose Bierce

Ambrose Bierce (1842–ca. 1914) was an American journalist, short-story writer, and poet. Born in Ohio, he served in the Civil War and then settled in San Francisco. He wrote for Hearst’s Examiner, his wit and satire making him the literary dictator of the Pacific coast and strongly influencing many writers. He disappeared into war-torn Mexico in 1913.

About William Roberts

William Roberts’ theater appearances include Of Mice and Men and To Kill a Mockingbird. Among his films are Cold Mountain and Death Wish III, while he has been seen on television in Martin Chuzzlewit and The Old Devils. An accomplished voice artist, he is a frequent narrator of audiobooks and has received an AudioFile Earphones Award.
