First published in 1642 and written primarily to encourage Christians in their faith, Christ Set Forth is a book full of theological riches and penetrating insights and gives us an opportunity to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ, his work, and his death. Expounding on Romans 8:34, Goodwin addresses the problem of looking into one’s own heart for signs of grace instead of looking to Christ.
