" this is the first of Goddard's books that I have read and it was fabulous. I really enjoy how the author takes on a mysterious journey and how all is revealed thru great logic. "

" I would really like to know who borrowed this book and did not return it! The dust jacket, forlorn and empty, stares at me reproachfully from time to time. I think it was someone in my book group, and I *will* find you... "

" Fantastic. Man falls in love, ends his marriage only to be stood up. There begins a mystery going back over a hundred years, many twists and turns. My favourite Robert Goddard novel, yet to be out-done. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Anne | 12/27/2013

" I like Robert Goddard a lot but this was not one of his better books. It starts off with a bang and holds your interest but when the story within a story takes over, while exciting for a while and a bit of a page-turner for a bit, it loses a lot of interest, especially the more you learn. "

" My favorite Goddard by far - more intense than his others and the photography aspect is handled brilliantly. A great place to start if you haven't tried him. "

" A fantastic journey with enough plot twists to keep you on your toes. I ultimately had to knock my rating down a star, though, due to the highly implausible beginning and resolution. "

" A beautifully written, tense, suspenseful novel full of twists and turns and well-drawn characters. Slipping effortlessly between the present and the past, it's tragic and moving and utterly compelling. I can't recommend Goddard's books highly enough. "
