Hap Collins, chicken plant guard, saves a young woman's life, and her father, owner of the chicken plant, rewards him with a large cash bonus. Hap and his best friend, Leonard Pine, head for a cruise to Mexico and the Caribbean. Not matching up to the exacting dress code of the on-board lobster restaurant, Leonard soon causes the pair to be abandoned in Mexico.

There they are saved from knife-wielding policemen by a geriatric fisherman and his daughter, Beatrice. But try as he might, Hap can't seem to stay out of other people's business. Beatrice's past returns to haunt her in the shape of a Mexican mobster and threatens to drag Hap, and all those closest to him, into further violence. Download and start listening now!

" Un'altra straordinaria storia della saga di Hap & Leonard. Come sempre non mancano azione, colpi di scena e quel classico umorismo che riesce a strapparti una sana risata anche nel bel mezzo di un momento del racconto pieno di tensione. "

" A typical Hap and Leonard adventure. Lost of excitement and plenty opf profane East Texas cooloqualisms "

" If you like Joe Lansdale's "East Texas" adventures, then this is another treat. There's nothing like the books in this series. All are a fabulous mix of humor, violence, and social commentary. This one takes place largely in Mexico, so Leonard and Hap are even more the fish out of water than usual. "

" this one went slower for me than many of the other hap and leonard series titles...I wouldn't recommended it as a Lansdale must-read, but if you've read most of his others, you may as well for a bit of enjoyment...just not of the same caliber as his others. "
