On July 27, 2004, at the Paulist Center in Boston, a symposium was held at the Democratic National Convention. The symposium, entitled Building the Peace Movement, was moderated by Mimi Kennedy. The discussion panel was composed of Dennis Kucinich, Phyllis Bennis, Tom Hayden, Medea Benjamin, and Steve Cobble.
