Logan Gyre has a history to keep up. As the new king of Cenaria, he has a much larger plate of responsibility than many. The country is under siege, and he must find a way to help. Of course, doing so will never be easy. With a ransacked, desperate army and morale lower than he's ever seen it, his chances seem slim as far as success goes.

Of course, there is a gamble he can take. It's a desperate one, but one that may turn this war around. The plan is simple, and at the same time, not: Assassinate a goddess. Stuck in the middle of this is Kylar Stern, the unwitting hero who has to do the deed, at great personal risk. Will he succeed?

His success (or failure) has the entire kingdom riding on it, and throughout, the question of who will win--evil or good--rings true with every heartbeat. Will the kingdom fall, or is it possible to still save it?

Brent Weeks is an American New York Times bestselling author most known for his fantasy book series. Born on Montana, he graduated with a bachelor's degree from Hillsdale College before deciding to pursue a career in literature. He enjoyed a brief stint as a teacher/bartender before picking up a very successful full-time writing career. His novels have debuted to much literary acclaim and movie deals have also been in the works. His new Lightbringer series is also set to continue in 2014, to much critical anticipation.

Logan Gyre is king of Cenaria, a country under siege, with a threadbare army and little hope. He has one chance---a desperate gamble, but one that could destroy his kingdom. In the north, the new Godking has a plan. If it comes to fruition, no one will have the power to stop him. Kylar Stern has no choice. To save his friends---and perhaps his enemies---he must accomplish the impossible: assassinate a goddess. Download and start listening now!

" I would give the first half of the book a 3.5 because it jumps around to different people more then I really like. But the second half pushed it up to a 4 for me because the author really pulled the story and all the different characters together in a very satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. "
