"A great way to read all of Beatrix Potter's works and -- even better -- to pore over the beautiful illustrations. An introduction to each book tells when it was written and gives some background on places used in illustrations, who is was given to or dedicated to, etc."

" I was surprised how much my boys really enjoyed me reading this book to them. They have been reading some of the stories on their own now. I will need to find some more stories from the library. "

" I didn't expect it to take me almost a month to read this book. Perhaps it's because I read a little at a time. the beginning of the book sped by and I enjoyed reading all of Potter's tales, as previously I was only versed in the 1st Peter Rabbit tale. But as the book wore on, I found it harder to get into some of her stories, especially the ones that were longer than her typical books. The illustrations were always great and the humanized animals were so cute. Her ideas were fun, but I guess they started to feel...um, weak? I don't know how to describe it. I think they are books one definitely should grow up with and I wish I'd had more available to me as a child. "

" I love this book. It was the first book I bought when my daughter was born. I'd read to her every night from it for years. The topsy turvy quaint writing style and stories are adorable. Plus I played Mopsy in my 2nd grade play. :D "

" This is Ezran's current bedtime story book. It is not a book you could read one-handed because of its size. It is also challenging to read outloud and I end up making up prounouciations for some of the more English names that I am not familiar with. "

About Beatrix Potter

Helen Beatrix Potter (1866–1943), born in London, is regarded as one of the world’s best-loved children’s authors of all time. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher, and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood. A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist. Her books have been translated into nearly every language and have never been out of print.
