"Had some slow parts so I gave it four stars instead of five. Fun plot, engaging characters and lots of witty dialogue (Heyer's forte). If you can handle the sophsiticated/old English style of writing (a la Jane Eyre) then you should enjoy this book. Wonderful novel!"

" I may have read too many Heyers when I came upon this one, but it seemed a little too long and a little too involved after the fact. I totally enjoyed it while I was reading it, but it didn't make a lasting impression. But, it is fun to read, with witty, bantering dialogue, great characters and caricatures, and silly adventures abounding. "

" Firey redhead jilts sardonic Marquis -- there is only one way this can end. No complaints from me, however. The characters are vibrant, if largely one-sided. There is plenty of comedy and lots of regency manners. A very satisfying, joyful read. "
