Author of Sutter's Cross, a Booklist Top Pick, W. Dale Cramer evokes the ambiance of a small Southern town in this inspiring novel. Jeremy's mother has passed away, leaving him with an odd request. He is to find his Uncle Aiden, a hardrock miner, and stay with him, regardless of Aiden's wishes. Jeremy's faith in God gives him the courage to find the humanity behind this tough-as-steel man.

"I really liked this book, although it was pretty technical as far as the mining equipment was concerned. That was important to the story, but for us girls :) a little less technicality might have worked better. But it was still a great story."

" Not as good as the other book I read by this author, Levi's Will (which made me think and cry and fall in love with characters), because it had a slow start. But once I got into it, I was fully engaged in this great story. "
