Publisher Description

Lola has no intention of accepting when her boyfriend Dougie's snobbish mother offers her £10,000 to break up with him. Then she discovers a secret that makes her think again. Dougie would probably have broken up with her in the long run, and this way she can help one of the people she loves most in the world.

Ten years later, though, when Lola meets Dougie again, her feelings for him are as strong as ever. But she broke Dougie's heart - and he's about to discover that she was paid to do it. Lola's very attractive and very persuasive - but she's got her work cut out if she wants to win him back.

"I read a few reviews where it stated that this book is predictable, but I could not understand what the problem was supposed to be with predictability. It is the journey you have to follow towards that end which makes it wonderful. I loved the journey this book took me on, and even though I knew the outcome, I could not help wishing throughout that it will indeed happen. I laughed myself silly a few times. I really liked this story."

" Good book, just not my favorite. I would have liked if Doug's character expressed more during the book. The author developed every other character I feel except him. Other than that I enjoyed it. Nice easy read if your looking for something. "

" I really like Jill Mansell's characters and the way she writes. It's fresh and exciting but this is the third or fourth book I've read of hers and the formula is starting to get tired. I pretty much can sum up all the characters endings by the second chapter. And this ending was pretty bland for her... disappointed. "

" Another really easy read, I'm still amazed by this as it's so different from my usual fantasy/sci-fi, I think the way characters are introduced and written make it really easy empathise with them. I not sure about the actual story seems to fall flat at the end but It was a bit of light relief after Lord of the flies! "

" I guess I liked the concept and the ending, and some of it was funny, but for the most part I had a hard time following. The book jumped characters and time so fast with no warning that is was a little exhausting trying to keep up. "
