"This book is amazingly fun. I think someone told me it was originally a graphic novel, and it is easy to imagine it as such. The characters are so lively and memorable, and the story is a lot of fun to try to figure out. It's the beginning of a series, and I'll definitely want to read more."

" The book adds some information for those who follow the comic, but I wouldn't want to read it as a stand alone novel. "

" Pretty good novel, but I was hoping for more detail than just a retelling of the story from the comic. At least the Jagers had more depth and the attraction between Gil and Agatha was fleshed out more. "

" I've never read steampunk before, am not familiar with the webcomic this was based on, and this is the second book in the series. Despite all that, I managed to enjoy this. Jagermonsters in particular. "

" Wonderful! Even more fun than the Parasol Protectorate. I can't wait to read the next one, but first I'll be reading the web comic series. Thank you Pat Rothfuss for always recommending Girl Genius. "

" I bought this book for my dad and thought it would be fun to read as well. Some parts were very clever and fun, but most of it feels highly forced and is hugely predictable. I didn't hate it, but I don't think that I'll continue with the series. "

" Phil & Kaja Foglio have turned their webcomic into a novel. I quite enjoyed reading this, and having it in prose format gives them the room to explain a few things in better detail, but overall, I think the story is better served in comics where we can see the wonderful, cartoony art. "

" If you've never read Girl Genius, I'd recommend starting with the comic. But if you're already a fan, this novel adds a lot of interesting points and backstory that didn't make it in to the original, along with an interesting slightly different version of certain events. "
