'

It's very easy to kill - so long as no one suspects you.' So says Miss Pinkerton when ex-policeman Luke Fitzwilliam meets her on a train. Luke doesn't take much notice of this little old lady's story about a serial killer on the loose in her village - until her predictions start to come true, when he feels compelled to check it out. Very soon the race is on to prevent any more murders...

Dramatised by Joy Wilkinson, and with a distinguished cast including Patrick Baladi, Lydia Leonard, Michael Cochrane and Marcia Warren, this is a gripping BBC Radio dramatisation of one of Agatha Christie's most ingenious detective stories.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the book and only managed to clear my mind of the false trails just before the murderer was revealed. Perhaps the main flaw was that the detective was a bit thick, but at the same time, that added a fair bit of suspense to the narrative."

" I didn't really start enjoying this book will 2/3s way through. I found Bridget to be remote and sarcastic and felt like I missed a chapter on how Luke courted her. When Christie got down to the business of murder, the novel shined. I think if she stuck to this the story would have been much better rather than introducing a romance that just didn't work, in my opinion. "

" My first Agatha Christie experience. I picked it up at a used bookstore in Lima for the 22 hour bus ride to Cusco, I was drawn to it for the soft focus image on the cover of a persian cat, a bottle of scotch and a rapier. It was an entertaining and easy read, perfect for killing time. Not epic. "

" I haven't read any Agatha Christie books in over a decade but I do know this does not come close to being her best work. I didn't suspect the killer until very late in the game, but the run up to that poing was pretty meh. Quick and easy read though. "

" Out of the old school of whodunits: it boils down to a series of interviews with the many suspects in order to sort out the web of motives, relationships, and petty details. So, a lot of talking for most of its length. More than I could stand. "
