She gave him her innocence . . .

Lady Aline Marsden was brought up to marry a man of her own class, but from the moment she meets John McKenna, she risks everything to be with him.

He gave her his heart

Although their love is forbidden, McKenna's passion for the beautiful Aline is too compelling to deny.

When their secret is discovered, their world is shattered. McKenna is forced to leave forever, unaware that the only reason Aline has given him up is to save him.

Now McKenna has returned, a powerful man determined to take revenge against the woman who broke his heart. But the magic between them burns as fiercely as ever . . . and as McKenna uncovers Aline's deepest secret, together they discover a love that will defy Fate itself.

"Flew by this one in no time. Didn't mean that it was any less poignant though. It was a very sad sorry in some ways. That the heroine thought she was doing the right thing by pushing her true love away forever. But they see each other in 12 years and things are just as they are again. But things have happened to the heroine and she thinks she can't trust him like she hasn't trusted any other man. Great story.. also nice supporting story of the other sister as well... wraps up both of their stories very nicely!"

" Great story of a love lost and then recaptured. I really came to care for both characters, Aline and McKenna. Their love was passionate and the ending was poignant. Loved it! "

" *turns into a weepy mess* Holy cripe this book was fantastic! The two sisters were in the Wallflowers series, and so I went back and found this book so I could read about them. And woah, it was such a sad and wonderful story. So much squeeing and eyes filling up with tears. Wow! "

" This is the first book I have ever read on a Kindle and I enjoyed the fact that it is difficult to see the end. The book was so good and poignant that knowing anything about the end before the appropriate time would have been a crime. I recommend this to anyone who needs a good cry and also a happy ending with the promise that you won't be disappointed. "

" I really enjoyed this book. However, I struggle with people making their lives more difficult by hiding a truth. I know it happens a lot in romance novels. Let's face it, it wouldn't be much of a story if boy meets girl, girl jumps in bed with boy...the end. But, when the lead hides her feelings or an illness or whatever to protect the other person I find myself yelling at the book...TELL HIM OR HER. Geesh! People really find ways to mess up their lives. I just don't like when the story depends on playing games to build the suspese or storyline. "

" I loved this book. I love McKenna and Aline together. Their story is tragic but sweet. I wish that Olivia had been given her own book. She seems a very interesting character, as does Mr. Shaw. "

" This book was very well written and made me experience a range of emotions. Yes, I would say it has the typical romance novel story line of star-crossed lovers but the dilemma between them was new and refreshing. This book will make you laugh and cry but it was definitely worth reading. "

" Fun read of historical England about several girls who call themselves the Wallflowers since they cannot find husbands. Clear characterization that leads to the book's plot and sub-plots. Definitely a romance(s) with more sex than most of her other books. "
