Publisher Description

From New York Times bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio talk-show host Michael Savage comes a high-intensity debut thriller, the story of a smeared network journalist who uncovers a chilling terrorist plot. Jack Hatfield is a hardened former war correspondent who rose to national prominence for his insightful, provocative commentary. But after being smeared as a bigot and extremist by a radical leftist media-watchdog group, he ultimately loses his job and finds himself working in obscurity as a freelance news producer in San Francisco. One afternoon Hatfield is on a ride-along with the SFPD bomb squad when a seemingly routine carjacking turns deadly, after police find several pounds of military-grade explosives in the jacked car. And when the FBI urges Hatfield to stay out of it, he knows he's onto something big. This event will open up a shadowy trail that leads Hatfield from San Francisco to Tel Aviv, London, Paris, and back again, as he works with a stunning Yemeni intelligence agent and a veteran Green Beret to expose a terrorist group known as the Hand of Allah—and a plot within the highest corridors of power that will dwarf September 11th. Abuse of Power is a lightning-paced thriller, spanning the globe from Europe and Israel to the back alleys of San Francisco's Chinatown. Jack Hatfield must make the choice between protecting his own life and investigating a terrorist cell whose goal is nothing less than total political control—no matter what the cost.

"A page turning story about a an attempted terrorist attack in San Francisco. This book will make you wonder what might really be possible, if the right/wrong people got involved in such a plot. This story worked well for me, great characters, exciting story-line, some interesting plot twists."

" Clearly written as a polemical exercise. Stretches credulity (mine, anyway) beyond the breaking point. Good guys too heroic, caricatures of real people too thinly disguised. I haven't read any of the author's nonfiction, but I suspect it's more suitable for his purposes. "

" I give this 3 stars because Michael Savage is the man. Realistically I would probably do 2 stars if it were someone else. The story was predictable and I thought that there was too much sex. I did really like the parts that he included in his story about current events and also personal events that happened to him. "

" The best radio talk show host in America spreads his wings into the Thriller book genre. You can hear the voice of Mr. Savage telling this story if you have listened to his radio show. It has a realistic plot in these days of world terrorism. He starts off slow. I had difficulties in wanting to pick the book up between readings. But he did a excellent job of closing the plot to his readers satisfaction. It is not his usual writing that he excels in, but for his first attempt at writing a Thriller it was admirable. He is truly a gifted man, as he will tell you on his radio show. "

" This was a good thriller. I liked the character development, the story line, and the settings. I thought it was a little too autobiographical for Michael Savage. It's almost as if he created his CIA dream of himself to fight evil. Despite being far fetched in several areas it was a good read. "
