"The third in the Abarat series, this book starts out with Candy Quackenbush being interrogated. More information is given concerning Princess Boa, her relationship with Candy, Christopher Carrion, and Finnegan Hob. I loved the first two books and was eagerly awaiting the publication of this third book. Honestly, it left me a little disappointed. Malingo's character seems lacking somehow, not given the same personality as he has in the previous books. Story lines were started and then just left hanging with no resolution, as though they were just forgotten. The book was still good, just not up to the standard the previous two have led me to expect. I was also a little disappointed in the art work as much of it was just repeated from the previous books and in at least one place, there was no explanation that would lead one to easily identify the character."
