They’re the perfect couple, envied by their friends, cherished by their children, admired by their peers. But John and Abby Reynolds know they’re just pretending to be happy. In fact, they’re waiting for the right time to tell the kids they’re going to divorce. But at the family meeting where they plan to tell their children, Nicole shares a surprise of her own: she’s getting married. How can they spoil her joy with their announcement?

They can pretend a little longer, until after the wedding. But questions begin to haunt them as the date draws nearer. What happened to the love and commitment that held them together for so long? Is it still there somewhere under all the pain and misunderstanding? And is it still possible, alone in the moonlight on an old wooden pier, to once more find, a time to dance?

" I loved this book. Not only was it entertaining, but it taught me a lot about faith and relationships. It showed to be how truly hard divorce can be and encouraged me to never let that happen to my own marriage. Karen Kingsbury wove emotion into this book beautifully and had me angry one minute, crying the next, and jumping for joy when I finished the book. I'm excited to read the sequel. "

" This was a different kind of love story about a married couple that has grown apart and their struggles over contemplating divorce. It was a good story but seemed a little repetitive and much too long. The plot should have picked up and developed much earlier in the book in order to have held my attention better. But I did like it enough to want to read the sequel. "

" With so many negative announcements in our society, I found this couple's struggle refreshing. I related to their struggle, their anger, their distance from God and their fears. For a Christian, this is what I would hope trouble marriages would experience. Great story without being too 'Pollyanna'! "
