" I thought of myself as a really big John Irving fan before reading this book. I am a little amazed that I finished it. I found it to be really transphobic. I felt really let down by John. Probably because of this, I never got into it. The only part that I really liked was when the starlet mother fainted after being licked and sneezed on by a cow. "

" So far i'm not really enjoying listening to this. The narrators voice is like listening to a movie trailer crossed with the drone of a bee. "

" John Irving will never write another "The World According to Garp," but this is a worthy effort worth reading. "
