Lisa Wingate has been favorably compared to authors Nicholas Sparks and Richard Paul Evans. In A Month of Summer, Hanna Beth has been caring for her aging husband-who suffers from Alzheimer's-and her developmentally challenged adult son for years on her own. "Auntie Lucy lent me this book about a year ago, and I am just getting to read it. I didn't know if I'd like it, but I love it. It is a very intense account of an impossible situation - identity theft on a family with severe health problems. Very scary. Almost done~! "

" It brought to the forefront life experience we all are most likely to face, too much was crammed into "summer". The development of the characters was pretty amazing. "

" I don't know why, but Wingate's books are really slow reads for me. I like them, but they take me forever. This one was good. I liked how everything was resolved. I knew it was going to happen that way, but that's okay. Predictable can be good. "

" I liked this book. The author is a Christian and faith figures in the story a lot. It is continued in at least one more book, which I have read. The characters are likeable people--well, most of them anyway--unlike those in some books I have read. "
