Publisher Description

To those who knew her, Grace Dearden is an extraordinary woman. Beautiful, clever - and admired. But Grace has been missing for over a week, leaving no clue as to her whereabouts. Even to the police, dutifully combing the lonely Norfolk marshes, she seems to have simply vanished into the black depths of winter. A desperate call from Grace's husband summons the help of Alex O'Neill, an old family friend. But even she finds the truth as elusive as the sea's rising tide...

"Started slow. Last half of book was terrific. Ending was superb."

" Pretty enjoyable village mystery, I liked the main character Alex but it wasnt very gripping until nearer the end x "

" Her writing is sometimes poetic, but the book is much too long for the story. If the book was made into a movie, I could see the length being more appropriate, but even then, if I were the scriptwriter, I'd cut outn huge chunks of unimportance. "

" Pretty mediocre...I don't much like the style of emotional relationship-oriented crime novels, of which this is one. For the genre, it wasn't bad, but I can't provide much more praise than that. "

" Not as gripping as Wolf winter but still an enjoyable mystery. I enjoyed the quiet calm pace and the setting of the story in Norfolk. The characters weren't particularly rounded or full, but as a no-brainer I became involved in the story. "
