Publisher Description

Thea Osborne and her trusty spaniel, Hepzie, have been asked by the Montgomerys to look after their house in Blockley while they take a much-needed holiday. Their elderly mother, Granny Gardner, shouldn't be any trouble - although she is slightly forgetful.

Thea settles in easily enough, and the arrival of Jessica, Thea's daughter, is a welcome surprise. Granny's behaviour is a little peculiar, but so too are the Montgomerys' instructions to keep her trapped in the house.

But Thea's got far more to worry about when a body is discovered in the house next door. It isn't long before Thea and Jessica find themselves involved in trying to solve the murder.

"She's mixing it up nicely. The last book was told from someone else's point of view, and this mystery is really worked out more by her daughter than herself. I really recommend this series if you like mysteries set in Britain."

" I found the plot in this book very weak. Also did not like the fact that you were told the killer way before the end of the book. Also I found that the book end rather abruptly. I did however like the main character Thea and it has left me thinking I would give another book in this series a go. "

" An OK read but not great. Plot is a bit thin. I am only reading this series because I have got to know the Cotswold area fairly well and like to read about places that I know. "

" I would have given this 3 stars as it was pleasant enough read but the hurried ending was a complete disappointment. "

" A light-hearted read and I only read these books because I have got to know the Cotswold area fairly well. The plot is a bit thin but OKish. "

" This book was pretty much a mess. Couldn't figure out why these two people were together; coukdn't understand why the book needed so many pages to get to whodunit (lots of not much happening) and still not sure what the motive was at all..won't be reading more of her books. "
