A Christmas Carol is the best-known and best-loved of Dickens' Christmas books, and the story of the miser Scrooge's redemption has become as much part of the Christmas tradition as plum pudding and carols themselves. Will Tiny Tim live to see another Christmas? Can Scrooge recover his humanity and learn to love the fellow men he seems to despise? Dickens will make you laugh and make you cry as you follow Scrooge's supernatural adventures on Christmas Eve.

"My favorite Christmas story, which I re-read or listen to every year. When I found out about this version read by the fourth Doctor, I had to have it. Baker reads the characters with lots of vim & color, if occasionally a bit too fast to really savor the language. This will alternate nicely with the Tim Curry-read version I already had." — Leilani (5 out of 5 stars)

" I read it every year ! "
" Gotta love Dickens! A Christmas Carol is a literary masterpiece. Many of the modern incantations in film simply do not do this work justice. A must read, and I highly recommend this book to everyone. A holiday classic, but it's a fine book to sit down to in any time of the year! "
" A holiday classic that should be dusted off once a year and read by the family. Dickens does not disappoint with his beautiful writing in this shorter story of his. As with all his writing the characters are fully developed and his imagery does not leave much to the imagination so much as beauty to imagine. A perfect introduction to Dickens for those not ready for David Copperfield or Oliver Twist. "
" One of my challenges for 2013 is to read one classic & one prize winning book each month. I gave myself an easy start and chose this as the first classic as it is relatively short and a story known to all. I actually really enjoyed reading it. "
" Words can't describe it, not even Charles Dickens... "

" Just delightful. Dickens is only surpassed by Disney. "
" Performed as a readers' theater in high school "
" I think that this book was very vivid and creative because it has a moral within itself. It teaches you to be generous and kind to others, rather than be a selfish, greedy person that everybody will hate. This book is truly wonderful, almost like a classic within itself. Highly recommended. "
" it was a pleasure reading this book because i think the guy at the end of all his trials learn that you cant be selfish ,greedy and mean all his life and he learn that being unselifish anf creshirish it for the best . p.s i spelled a word wrong correct me... "
