“32 cheers for Ernessa T. Carter! She’s created one of the freshest, funniest characters I’ve ever read….32 Candles is a charmer.”—Carleen Brice, author of Orange Mint and Honey
32 Candles by exciting newcomer Ernessa T. Carter is the slightly twisted, utterly romantic, and deftly wry story of Davie Jones, who, if she doesn’t stand in her own way, just might get the man of her dreams. For fans of John Hughes’s “Sixteen Candles”, 32 Candles is a fresh and fun fiction debut for every fan of romantic comedy.

"Hot pink background, big black afro, 80's reference in the the title? This book practically leaped off the shelf into my hot little hand. This is currently my new favorite book. Davidia Jones, poor, black and mute by choice wants her Molly Ringwald ending. And like most girls that grew up in the 80's and 90's actually believes that love can happen just like in the movies. Has all the potential to be a really crappy novel, but it was great! Funny, touching and surprising! Very cinematic, and if someone hasn't already optioned the rights, I want to write the screenplay!" — rebekah (5 out of 5 stars)

" I really liked it - a black teenager from Mississipi who really wants her life to turn out like Molly Ringwald's in 16 candles. There are parts of life I know nothing about, and I liked the characters - even the ones you're not supposed to like. "
